Overview
Sudip’s instincts coupled with his extensive trial experience allow him to craft litigation strategies that are both effective and efficient.
Sudip has successfully tried cases before federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, the U.S. Patent Office, and the International Chamber of Commerce. Earlier in his career, Sudip prepared and prosecuted patent and trademark applications, providing him with a further insight that he leverages to achieve successful outcomes for his clients in patent matters.
To date, Sudip has successfully handled 19 ITC investigations, 23 IPR proceedings, and dozens of district court cases. These cases involved a broad range of technologies including biotechnology relating to cell therapies and drug delivery devices; consumer electronics relating to mobile phones, laptops, and tablets; software relating to speech recognition; and power electronics relating to wind turbines and lighting products.
The outstanding results Sudip has achieved for his clients in complex and factually challenging cases include securing dismissal of all claims in a patent infringement suit on behalf of a founder of a biotech startup in a case involving induced pluripotent stem cells; and successfully persuading a jury that a competitor’s patent—which the client stipulated its product covered—was not willfully infringed and had only nominal value.
When not practicing law Sudip enjoys fostering the interests of his two young children and playing the saxophone.
