With over a decade of litigation experience, Shilpa Coorg is the seasoned advocate her clients trust in their most significant matters. Specializing in intellectual property and privacy litigation, she skillfully navigates the intricate legal landscape with both legal acumen and common sense.
Shilpa is dedicated to providing top-notch legal representation to businesses during their time of need. Her emphasis on efficiency and attention to detail ensures each client receives cost-effective, personalized, and practical strategies tailored to their unique needs. As a strategic thinker, Shilpa approaches each case with a fresh perspective, analyzing all angles to develop robust legal strategies. Her ability to anticipate and counter opposing arguments sets her apart.
Over the years, Shilpa has successfully represented clients in a wide range of legal matters, including intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark) litigation and counseling, privacy matters (including cases brought under state or federal laws such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the federal Wiretap Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, and the federal Video Privacy Protection Act), contract disputes, and other general commercial litigation matters. She handles all aspects of civil litigation, from pre-filing through trial, in both state and federal courts and alternate dispute resolution forums.
Shilpa has successfully obtained dismissal on the papers on behalf of her defendant clients, and summary judgment or other desired relief prior to trial on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. She has secured dozens of favorable settlements after negotiating with her opposing counsel. She has also functioned as outside general counsel for her clients, providing advice regarding complex business matters.
Shilpa is committed to supporting and mentoring other members of the Southern California legal community. She is a frequent author of well-received articles relevant to the legal profession. As a former Co-President of SABA-SC (South Asian Bar Association of Southern California) and current member of the SABA-SC Steering Committee, Shilpa remains dedicated to the professional development of South Asian lawyers and law students, including through SABA-SC’s Mentorship Program. She also leads the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts as Chair of the firm’s DEI Committee. In her spare time, Shilpa enjoys baking, cooking, yoga, and travelling.

Experience
Secured over two dozen favorable settlements on behalf of defendants in cases brought pursuant to state or federal privacy laws.
Represented a leading automobile manufacturer in a design patent infringement case involving 23 patents. The case settled favorably for the client.
Successfully filed a motion to dismiss plaintiff’s counterclaim, followed by a motion for summary judgment, both of which were granted.
Served as co-counsel in a trademark infringement case brought against a defendant client. The case was dismissed on the papers based on lack of personal jurisdiction.
Successfully opposed defendant’s forum non conveniens motion that sought to move the case to Germany. Case was litigated in the forum originally chosen by plaintiff client before resolving favorably.
