William Delgado Interviewed By Lawyer Monthly Magazine On Copyright Law In The Digital Age

William Delgado was interviewed by Lawyer Monthly Magazine in an article titled “Will the Law Ever Evolve Quick Enough for New Technologies?” In the piece, Will discusses the evolution of technology and how it has impacted copyright law, and he answers questions about the difficulty of copyrighting in the digital age. Some of Will’s quotes include:

“Congress should take a new look at the DMCA in 2020, but we should accept (and plan for) the eventuality we will need to do so again in 2025.”

“By and large, most countries provide a protection period for the life of the creator plus 50 or 70 years. So, shortening the protection period to something like 14 years, which is a number I have seen, could represent a huge blow to a U.S. citizen.”

“I suspect Congress and several federal agencies will be taking a hard look at Section 230 and Section 230 compliance this year.”
