Overview
Grace Schmidt, a seasoned litigator based in DTO’s New York office, is a standout professional adept at handling a diverse range of civil litigation matters.
Grace is well-versed in advising clients on false advertising and consumer protection claims, class actions, breach of contract disputes and related tort claims, and employment disputes. She represents national clients in high stakes matters across a wide variety of industries, including telecommunications, automotive, consumer goods, and technology. She has experience representing companies and individuals in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration matters. In all her matters, Grace strives to provide creative solutions and honest, effective counsel.
Prior to joining DTO Law, Grace served as one of the first law clerks to the Honorable Karen Spencer Marston in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Grace began her legal career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison LLP in New York, where she drafted many motions and pleadings and managed discovery. She has also taught Introduction to Legal Analysis and Writing to first-year students at Yale Law School.
Beyond her passion for the law, Grace is known for immersing herself in stacks of library books, practicing Pilates, and enjoying musical theater.

On behalf of a dietary supplement company, defended against false advertising class action lawsuits in New York and California state courts, resulting in the withdrawal of both lawsuits.
Advised a consumer goods company concerning the litigation risks associated with one of its food and beverage brand’s product labeling.
Representing a telecommunications company in defending against a Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) class action.
