DTO Welcomes New Attorneys Sudip Kundu and José Martinez
The Firm is pleased to announce that Sudip Kundu and José Martinez have joined the firm as Counsel and Associate, respectively.
Sudip Kundu is an experienced first-chair litigator with a focus on patent and trademark disputes. Sudip has successfully tried cases before federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, the U.S. Patent Office, and the International Chamber of Commerce. To date, Sudip has handled 16 ITC investigations, 23 IPR proceedings, and dozens of district court cases. Earlier in his career, Sudip prepared and prosecuted patent and trademark applications, providing him with a unique insight that he leverages to achieve successful outcomes for his clients. Sudip has achieved outstanding results for his clients throughout his career in complex and factually-challenging cases—results that centered on protecting and increasing his clients’ market share.
José Martinez is a civil litigator who has handled a wide variety of cases in both federal and state courts. Before joining DTO, José worked as a Deputy County Counsel for the County of Santa Clara, where he represented the County in multiple high-profile state and federal challenges to the constitutionality of the County Health Officer’s COVID-19 public health orders. He also served as lead counsel in defending the County against allegations of employment discrimination and retaliation, premises liability, and Fourth Amendment violations. Upon graduating from law school, José clerked for the Honorable Haywood S. Gilliam, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. After completing his clerkship, José began practicing at Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP, where he represented clients in all facets of commercial and intellectual property litigation.
