DTO Law’s Expansion into New York City Featured in ALM’s The Recorder
DTO Law was recently featured in ALM’s The Recorder for the launch of its third office location in New York City. Opened in July 2022, the office welcomed the arrival of white-collar partner Alison Kehner, former assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and intellectual property litigator Sudip Kundu.
“It was always the goal to expand to other geographic locations,” Managing Partner William Delgado shared with The Recorder. “Outside of California, New York was the big fish in the U.S. pond.” Will is barred in New York and noted that the firm has already handled many cases in the state. The article examines the firm’s journey since its inception three years ago and highlights how DTO Law has been able to attract and retain top talent as a boutique firm often pitted against Big Law competitors.
“When people want to move from Big Law to a boutique, there is a fear that the sophistication of practice will drop off. That is not the case for us,” remarked Will. “We handle a lot of cases involving first impression [issues] and class actions that tend to be large and nationwide.”
The firm is aiming for future expansion into Chicago and Miami, with plans to scale at a thoughtful pace in order to remain true to its core values and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Read the full article below.
