DTO Partner Katie B. Kramer Leads Webinar Series on Class Actions Following IEEPA Tariff Ruling
Following the Supreme Court’s late‑February decision striking down tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), businesses across industries have been reassessing potential tariff exposure and recovery options. In response to these developments, DTO partner Katie B. Kramer led a three‑part webinar series focused on the legal and practical implications of the ruling for importers, manufacturers, and other affected companies.
Throughout the series, Katie analyzed the Court’s decision and examined which tariffs may be subject to challenge in light of the ruling. The webinars also explored emerging strategies for pursuing tariff class actions, offering attendees a detailed look at procedural considerations such as standing, jurisdiction, and potential damages.
Taken together, the series provided a clear framework for understanding a rapidly evolving area of trade law and how the Supreme Court’s decision may influence tariff recovery efforts moving forward.
The webinars Katie spoke at are “CAPE Update: Legal, Audit, & Reporting Considerations,” hosted by American Association of Exporters and Importers, “Tariff Refund Class Actions: Essential Insights for Importers and Retailers,” hosted by the United States Fashion Industry Association, and “IEEPA Refund Class Actions: What Trade Lawyers Need to Know Now,” hosted by Customs and International Trade Bar Association.
